Yoox, the Italian clothes internet retailer which offers worldwide shipping is to buy the upscale fashion website Net-A-Porter.com.
Both online shops sell luxury good and clothing and it is understood that Yoox is taking over and buying Net-a-Porter in a deal that will value the two companies at about EUR2.6 Billion. The rationale for the deal is to compete by joining forces with the other fashion websites such as Amazon, Zalando and ASOS.
Yoox and Net-a-Porter both sell designer fashion clothing and accessories. Yoox sells end of line and last year's fashions and Net-a-Porter sells the big designer names and labels.
Both have good worldwide shipping policies and will deliver to most countries around the world. The acquisition should mean that they are even better able to offer a good international sales channel.
